Today is National Press Day
On July 22, 1875, the foundation of the Azerbaijani national press was laid with the newspaper "Əkinçi" published by Hasan bey Zardabi, and a new stage began in the development of enlightenment, national thought, and freedom of speech in our country.
Today, the Azerbaijani media plays an important role in providing the society with operative, objective, and comprehensive information, defending national interests, and promoting statehood values. Against the background of rapid changes in the information space, the importance of professional journalism is increasing even more.
Under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, important steps have been taken in the country towards the development of media, improvement of the social welfare of journalists, and the formation of a modern information environment. As a result of the decrees signed by the head of state, reforms have been carried out in the media sector, the legislative framework has been improved, consistent measures have been taken to support the professional activities of journalists, and special attention has been paid to the development of media institutions. All these contribute significantly to the development of a free, professional, and responsible media in our country.
On the occasion of July 22 – National Press Day, Aztəhsil.az sincerely congratulates all media representatives, journalists, and everyone working in the press, wishing them creative success and new achievements in their objective and responsible activities.
