In Nakhchivan, of those working in the education sector, 70 percent are women

Women constitute 50.1 percent of the population of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

Aztəhsil.az AZERTAC reports that these words were stated by Ramila Seyidova, Chairwoman of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, during her speech at an event on the topic "The Role of Women in Sustainable Development," held on the occasion of March 8 – International Women's Day.

According to the Chairwoman of the Committee, women constitute 70 percent of those working in education, 80 percent of those working in healthcare and social services, and 62 percent of those working in recreation, entertainment, and arts.

Women constitute 36 percent of the deputies of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. At the same time, one female deputy from the autonomous republic has been elected to the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Currently, 182 women are municipal members.
