Aztəhsil.az reports that increasing women's access to the labor market and employment opportunities is one of the main directions of the state employment policy implemented in our country.
As a continuation of measures in this direction by the State Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population, an additional 69,500 women were provided with suitable jobs in 2025.
The self-employment program, which has significant socio-economic importance, has created opportunities for unemployed and job-seeking women to access small entrepreneurship. In the last year, assets were provided to over 6,500 women within the framework of the self-employment program, establishing small family farms for them.
One of the active employment programs is the involvement of unemployed and job-seeking individuals in vocational training courses in accordance with labor market demands. Last year, an additional 18,400 individuals were involved in vocational training courses by the State Employment Agency, of whom 11,800 were women.
In recent years, improvements made in our country's labor legislation regarding women's labor have been aimed at increasing women's employment opportunities.
At the 2025 Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund, reforms implemented in this area in Azerbaijan were cited as an example. Furthermore, in the report-ranking of the World Bank's Women, Business and the Law 2024 publication, Azerbaijan increased its index from 78.8 to 85 and advanced 35 positions, rising from 104th to 69th place among 190 countries.
