Aztəhsil.az reports that this was stated by Gülnaz Hajiyeva, the mathematics teacher of “Qarabağ” head coach Gurban Gurbanov, in an interview with Sportnet.az. 

She said that her student had knowledge of geometry: “He was a very good, disciplined, worthy, composed, humble, responsible, intelligent student. He was the beloved student of the school, and I was his beloved teacher. Gurban Gurbanov initially studied at Secondary School No. 5 in Aşağı Tala village. Since that school was incomplete (8 years at that time, now 9 years - ed.), he completed his education at Full Secondary School No. 3. In the 9th and 10th grades (now 10th and 11th grades), I taught him mathematics - algebra and geometry.
Gurban loved mathematics. 

However, not everyone can learn this subject. But he had excellent geometric knowledge. At the same time, he also went to competitions as a football player. Once, I assigned him to make a geometric figure.

We later moved to Baku as a family and currently live in the capital. 

I myself have watched many “Qarabağ” matches from the stadium.
But during this time, we had never met Gurban. On March 8, however, we met by chance after many years. We, as a family, love Gurban. He also learned that his teacher was at the stadium. When the news reached him, we met after the game. Although he was supposed to go to the press conference. For this reason, our meeting was rushed, and we could not take a picture together. 

“Although I had been to “Qarabağ” matches many times before, I had not informed him of this. This time, when he found out, he decided to delay the press conference and meet with me.”

It should be noted that Gurban Gurbanov was late for the press conference after the “Qarabağ” - “Araz-Naxçıvan” (6:0) match held in the 23rd round of the Misli Premier League. He stated that the reason for this was meeting his mathematics teacher after 30 years.
