Universities may be relocated from Baku
"The issue of relocating universities in Baku and opening new universities in the regions will be reflected in the "Strategy for Socio-Economic Development of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2027-2030".
Aztəhsil.az reports that this was reflected in the "Report on the Activities of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2025", which was discussed at today's meeting of the Milli Majlis.
It was noted that, regarding this issue, the implementation of certain measures for the respective years is envisaged in the draft "Strategy for Socio-Economic Development of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2027-2030", which is currently in the discussion phase. At the same time, the issue of construction of new universities in the regions will be considered on a priority basis within the limits of budget possibilities, in accordance with the requirements of the "Rules for the Preparation, Implementation, Monitoring, and Evaluation of the State Investment Program of the Republic of Azerbaijan", approved by Decree No. 257 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated December 20, 2024, if substantiated proposals are submitted by relevant client organizations.
